It’s tough to source certified organic essential oils, and typically more expensive than your synthetic or adulterated alternatives..ever wondered why?
- The soil where the plant material is grown needs to be chemical free for between 3 – 7 years (country dependent)
- The seeds have to come from organically cultivated plants, free from fungicides, pesticides, growth hormones and other chemicals
- The cultivation must be free of synthetic or chemical applications, and fertilizers must be natural or come from manure from organically reared animals
It’s labour intensive, time consuming and difficult..and that’s not all! Farmers have to pay a lot of money for certification. This keeps the cetification honest; these organisations need to charge to remain independent. Turning to corporate or government funding could compromise the criteria and high standards, and we want to to keep the process honest and true!
Keep looking for good suppliers of certified organic essential oils and the affect on mood and health will be all the more exquisite! It’s worth the premium.
